Ventana's New Label
Our new elegant label was designed to tell the story of Ventana Vineyards.
When the Spanish explorer, Gaspar de Portolà, came ashore in Big Sur in 1769, he proceeded inland through what is now called the Ventana Wilderness and peered into the fertile Salinas Valley through a gap formed by the Arroyo Seco Canyon. They called the gap La Ventana, the Spanish word for window.
In the three windows at the top of our label is an artist's rendition of the Ventana Vineyard with the Arroyo Seco Canyon shown in the background. If you look closely in the third window you can see the old 1912-converted barn that serves as the Ventana winery.
The label clearly emphasizes that all of our wines are estate grown and bottled on our Ventana Vineyard, the Most Award-Winning Vineyard in America. We also prominently designate the Arroyo Seco appellation where our grapes are grown as it is rapidly being recognized as one of the top world class growing regions in California. Finally the vintage and varietal are presented in bold colors for the convenience of our customers.
The label will serve as an enticing, informative and easily recognizable invitation to try and enjoy our fabulous wines inside the bottle.
