Ventana models its Gewürztraminer in the off-dry Alsatian Style. With flavor characteristics of litchis, orange blossoms, cinnamon and nutmeg spices, it exudes a lively bouquet. The wine is medium bodied with a lingering crisp spicy finish. The off-dry style matches beautifully with food.

In the vineyard the gewürztraminer is planted using two types of trellising systems, the original six acres planted in the mid 1970s uses a quadrilateral trellis and in other parts of the vineyard we train the vines to the Vertical Shoot Positioning trellis (VSP).
After gentle pressing, Reggie settles the juice for 36-48 hours. Next step is to rack into tanks where we ferment cool. Fermentation lasted 5 weeks for optimum fresh flavors.
